"When I first started SENTI-ENT I just wanted to share my thoughts with the world. But upon witnessing firsthand the discrimination & abuse the world throws against queer African people, I knew I had to make a statement. I refuse to be silenced."

About
SENTI-ENT?

Image of open book and headphones against a parchment background.

SENTI - ENT is a personal entertainment blog that aims to understand the different ways films, shows, books, comics, music and everything in between can impact our lives.

My posts usually touch on the following:

  • representation and visibility

  • identity and expression

  • acceptance and community

  • storytelling and worldbuilding

  • technique and execution

I also write about my personal experiences as a queer, Black, African creative in his 20s.

We live in a big universe full of stories! To be sentient is the act of understanding the stories we live and the stories we tell. When you choose to be sentient, you choose to be present and open-minded. You choose to seek stories that make you feel deeply-- stories that inspire change.

When I'm not writing, I'm probably reading BL webtoons, watching TV or voguing to Beyonce's RENAISSANCE in my bedroom.

"Many stories matter. Stories have been used to dispossess and to malign. But stories can also be used to empower and to humanize. Stories can break the dignity of a people. But stories can also repair that broken dignity."
